AIGCP Condemns Actions Endangering the Safety of Riders and Teams

The International Association of Professional Cycling Teams (AIGCP) strongly condemns the actions that led to the neutralization of Stage 11 of the Vuelta Ciclista a España and put the safety of riders and professional teams at risk. Protecting athletes and team staff must remain an absolute priority.

The AIGCP emphasizes the importance of political neutrality in sport and its unifying and peace-promoting role. Cycling, like all major international sporting events, should bring people together, foster dialogue, and transcend divisions, and must never be used as a tool for sanction.

We express our full solidarity and support to all teams, their staff, and riders, who must be able to perform their profession and pursue their passion under safe and secure conditions.

We call on all stakeholders – authorities, organizers, teams, and the public – to act responsibly to ensure that cycling remains a safe, fair, and unifying sport.
